What is the minimum booking time for an interpreter?

For on-site interpreting, our industry-standard minimum booking is a half-day (4 hours) to ensure the linguist can properly prepare and travel. For Remote Video Interpreting (VRI) and Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI), we offer flexible hourly and per-minute billing structures tailored to urgent corporate needs.

What is the difference between Simultaneous and Consecutive Interpreting?

Simultaneous interpreting occurs in real-time. The interpreter sits in a soundproof booth and translates the speaker’s words continuously via headsets to the audience. Consecutive interpreting involves the speaker pausing every few sentences to allow the interpreter to relay the message. Simultaneous is ideal for large conferences, while consecutive is better suited for depositions, medical consultations, and small boardroom negotiations.

Translation & Certification

What is the difference between a Certified and Notarized translation?

A Certified Translation includes a formal declaration from TJC Global (bearing our ISO 17100 and ATC credentials) stating that the document is a true and accurate translation of the original. A Notarized Translation takes this a step further; the certifier’s signature is witnessed and stamped by a sworn Public Notary, which is often required for international court filings and governmental submissions.

Absolutely. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of our corporate, legal, and medical services. All TJC Global linguists are bound by strict, comprehensive confidentiality agreements.
